Samsung scores six shortlists in new Product Design Lions category

The newest category at the Cannes advertising awards, the Product Design Lions, has proved a fruitful one for Asia, with the region registering nine entries from a total of 26 on the shortlist.

Korean electronics brand Samsung was named on the shortlist six times.

Ogilvy Beijing’s ‘Second life caps’ idea for Coca-Cola, which saw specially designed bottle tops added to Coke bottles in Vietnam, also featured along with an idea from DDB DM9 JaymeSyfu to install pocket fire extinguishers in slums in the Philippines. The client is the City of Las Pinas.

The winners will be announced tomorrow, Wednesday.
