Amobee co-founder Harry Dewhirst joins BlisMedia to lead Asia expansion

Harry DewhirstThe co-founder of Amobee, the mobile ad firm acquired by SingTel in 2012, has joined UK-based ad tech firm BlisMedia to lead the company’s expansion in Asia and other international markets.

Harry Dewhirst, the former vice president of advertising at Amobee – which SingTel paid $321 million for two years ago – will be based in Singapore as BlisMedia’s president and chief commercial officer. He will also work across the firm’s Australasian operations in Sydney.

Launched in the UK in 2004, BlisMedia offers location-based targeting for brands looking to reach mobile users.

Dewhirst said in a press release: “Advertisers globally are seeking new ways to reach relevant audiences and we are seeing an explosion in data-led audience targeting – this comes at a crucial time for Blis. Our Infinity+ platform is the best in the market, and our multi-channel and cross-platform solutions are uniquely placed to help brands reach the people that matter, at the right place and time.”

The company, which has worked with brands including McDonald’s, Oracle, American Express, HSBC, Telefonica, Samsung, BMW and Warner Bros, has plans to open more offices globally over the next 12 months.

Dewhirst is also the co-founder and COO of RingRing Media, a mobile planning and buying agency that Amobee acquired in 2010.
