Korean ad agency Cheil has emerged as the only Asia agency to be recognised at a YouTube awards for the agencies that create the most viewed ads.

The video sharing social network handed out gold, silver and bronze awards, with Wieden + Kennedy claiming gold, Saatchi & Saatchi winning silver and Chiel claiming bronze with its work for key client Samsung.

The ranking is compiled using paid views, organic views and audience retention; how much of a video people watched.

YouTube noted that ad agencies were starting to “push the boundaries of online video creation” by creating longer ads and more engaging content.
