Manchester United to reach 490m in Asia through LINE app

Manchester United logoManchester United has struck a deal with messaging app LINE that the football club says will give its brand access to 490 million people in Asia.

LINE will now enable its users to access Man U news, videos and imagery directly from their mobile phones.

The club’s group MD Richard Arnold said that with a potential audience of nearly five hundred million users, the initiative will enable Man U fans in Asia to “engage and deepen their ties with the Club they love.”

United has been experimenting with social media a lot recently, using a Google Hangout to enable fans to cheer on their team virtually through the digital hoardings at Old Trafford.

The club claims to be the fastest of any sporting team to reach 55 million fans on Facebook, and has three million Twitter followers.
