Y&R has named Matthew Collier, who is just nine months into a role running the network’s newly formed Indochina operation, as the new boss of its group of agencies in Indonesia.

Collier succeeds John Domas, who has moved to the US and a job as client services director at Red Fuse, Y&R’s specialist agency for key client Colgate.

Collier will oversee agency brands Y&R, The Campaign Palace and VML Qais, and partner with ECD Yerry Indrajaya, who returned to the agency last month.

A replacement for Collier in Indochina has yet to be announced.

Collier has ran the Indochina operation, based in Vietnam, that won new clients including Emirates Airlines, Burger King, Caltex, Ansell and Remy Martin.

Sanjay Bhasin, Y&R’s Southeast Asia CEO, said: “Matthew Collier’s achievements with his great young team at Y&R Vietnam, and subsequent expansion of responsibilities to include Indochina, make him the ideal choice to maintain the amazing momentum at Y&R Group Indonesia, in partnership with award-winning new ECD Yerry Indrajaya.

He added: “Under John Domas’ leadership, the Y&R Group of agencies has gone from strength to strength, with major business wins including Indonesia’s biggest bank BCA, FMCG giant TPS Food and adidas. Winning Merck as both creative agency and for strategic strength shows how Y&R Group has grown not only in size but in capabilities. We thank John for his outstanding contribution and wish him all the best in his exciting new role.”
