Hair dressing and haircare brand VS Sassoon is staging what it says is Hong Kong’s first 3D sculpture styling event to celebrate it’s 60th anniversary.

Called Salon Sassoonism, the live styling session will see top hair stylists create 3D hair accessory sculptures on computers, which are then printed out on 3D printers.

The event kicks off today (Friday) at a pop-up store in the iSQUARE shopping mall in Tsim Sha Tsui.

It has been promoted through social media, and the Salon Sassoonism website.

Tim Hung, VS’s brand manager, said: “Bringing together world class stylists with our products co-developed with Vidal Sassoon Academy lets us demonstrate we’re continuing to lead the industry in style and innovation. We’re excited to welcome the discerning audience of Hong Kong to this event and demonstrate once again that we’re at the pinnacle of hair design and aesthetic advancement.”

The agencies behind the idea were digital agency Razorfish, PR shop Ketchum and media agency Starcom.

Christian Teniswood, creative director of Razorfish Hong Kong, added: Salon Sassoonism takes a step up this week with several first-in-class experiences for participants including the introduction of live 3D printed hair accessories, integrated into the professional looks created by the VS Sassoon stylists. We’ll also be showcasing interactive style components like digital lookbooks to help Hong Kong’s style set define their personal style for the season.”
