Indosat pitch sees ad account move to Ogilvy after four years with JWT

Indosat logoIndonesian telco giant Indosat has moved its advertising account from JWT to WPP sibling agency Ogilvy after a competitive pitch.

The announcement from Ogilvy:

Jakarta, 18 November 2014 –  After a highly competitive agency selection process that began last August, PT Indosat Tbk has chosen Ogilvy and Mather Indonesia as its official creative agency.

As a result, Ogilvy will partner with Indosat to strengthen the latter’s products through conceptual integrated commercial communications that are integrated with the needs of the targeted market and segments.

Ogilvy and Mather Indonesia replaces JWT Indonesia (Wira Pamungkas Pariwara) whose contract expired after a four-year fruitful partnership with Indosat.

”We would like to thank JWT Indonesia for their help in maintaining the Indosat brand as the choice of the people.  We would also like to welcome Ogilvy and Mather Indonesia as our new partner. We hope this collaboration will bring some fresh and new perspectives to strength then Indosat brand,” said Indosat’s Chief Marketing Officer, Loong Tuck Weng.

Indosat is a subsidiary of Qatari telco giant Ooredoo, which recently launched a mobile network in Myanmar, where it appointed Ogilvy’s sibling Bates CHI & Partners to handle its advertising.
