Oil giant Phoenix Petroleum backs Philippine youth basketball in CSR drive

In a corporate social responsibility push, Philippine oil company Phoenix Petroleum has released a film to show how it is supporting young Filipinos’ dreams to become professional basketball players.

The video, developed by media agency Havas Media Ortega’s Arena arm, features the stories of two children from Cebu who took part in the program.

The video was launched on the company’s Facebook page, and was supported with activity in social media that included trivia on the basketball youth program. It was led using the hastag #FuelTheDream.

Lawin Bulatao, ECD at Arena said: “I think it’s refreshing for a fuel company to talk about something other than itself and its latest giveaways. I’m thankful for this opportunity to share with everyone what fuel really does, which is to help us go places. This story tells us about how passion and persistence can prevail over poverty. And how working together can get us further than we ever thought possible.”
