STB resumes advertising to Vietnamese with ‘The new fun is Singapore-made’ campaign

Singapore Tourism Board has launched a campaign targeting Vietnamese holidaymakers fronted by local celebrity Vu Anh Tuan.

The campaign, which uses the slogan ‘The new fun is Singapore-made’, marks a resumption of advertising for Brand Singapore in Vietnam. STB had suspended advertising in the country earlier in the year because of unrest over tensions with China.

The campaign consists of a four-part series of short films featuring Vu Anh Tuan on his travels around the island nation.

In one four-minute film, Tuan visits various spots on Sentosa.

In another film, he visits Singapore Zoo and Haji Lane.

The campaign has so far generated a milder response than a three-minute film STB created in April this year for Filipino audiences. The video, called ‘See where the world is heading’, featured a couple on a romantic tour of Singapore. The “cringeworthy” piece went viral and made international headlines.
