StarHub dual broadband plan enables Singaporeans to download while they’re surfing

Singapore telco StarHub is promoting its new dual high-speed broadband offering, which will enable Singaporeans to be downloading content with through a fibre pipe while they are surfing through a separate cable connection.

In a TV ad created by DDB Singapore to promote the Dual Broadband 1000 plan, a windy gale is used as a metaphor for internet speed.

For a monthly fee of S$69.90, discounted from the usual free of $99.90, the new plan will off two additional broadband connections – one 1Gbps connection through fibre and one 100Mbps over cable – at no extra cost.

StarHub’s new offer is available from 22 November at or from StarHub dealers.

Lin Shu Fen, head of entertainment and smartLife at StarHub, claimed in a press release that StarHub is the only service provider in Singapore to integrate two high-speed broadband offerings in a single plan.

“This unique dual-network advantage enables us to offer customers unrivalled value and service resilience for greater peace-of-mind,” she said.

“Dual Broadband is especially relevant for customers who simultaneously access various bandwidth-intensive services, such as cloud, social networking, video streaming and gaming, across multiple devices in the comfort of their home.”
