BBH wins United Overseas Bank
After a long fought pitch that began in July, United Overseas Bank has appointed Bartle Bogle Hegarty as its next advertising agency, according to sources familiar with the review.
The Singapore-based financial services giant selected BBH after a final round of pitching with Saatchi & Saatchi. Agencies were informed of the news on Monday, Mumbrella understands.
UOB has not confirmed the news. BBH said it was unable to comment.
BBH takes over creative duties from Publicis Groupe sibling Leo Burnett, who conceded that they were no longer working with the client at the start of October.
Burnett won the account back in 2010, and rumours have been circulating in recent months that the relationship between client and agency has been uneasy.
The pitch list has remained a mystery throughout the process, with UOB declining to give any details about the contenders during the pitch process.
The win will cap off a good 2014 for the agency on Magazine Road, which was behind one of Singapore’s most popular campaigns of the year – the ‘Bookbook’ Apple parody viral for Ikea.
