PR agency Zeno launches e-learning courses for digital marketers

e-learning schoolDigital PR agency Zeno is launching an e-learning training program open to marketers and other PR agencies to improve their digital and social media skills.

Called the Asia Digital Essentials Program, the platform – developed with The Online Marketing Institute – is a response to the “talent gap” in digital capabilities as the industry expands, Zeno’s boss says.

Students must study at least six hours of curriculum and pass a test before getting a certificate from OMI for a particular skill.

The courses cost between $27 a month for a “basic” package, which gives access to video classes and courses, and $67 a month for the “professional plus” option with an “ask the instructors” feature.

The first courses are Asian Digital Landscape, Content Marketing and Digital Advertising, with plans to introduce 12 more by the middle of next year.

The OMI library will “cover the specific nuances” of planning and executing social and digital programs in Asian markets including China, Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam,” a press release reads.

“Digital marketing budgets are up from eight to 24 per cent [of total spend] depending in which market you’re in in the region. With all the money that’s pouring in, there’s a gap between demand and the talent and experience needed,” said John Kerr, MD of Zeno Group Asia.

According to an OMI digital talent gap study of 1,300 marketing and HR professionals, 87 per cent of companies have made closing the digital knowledge gap a top priority.

Kerr says his agency, which recently re-entered the Australian market through acquisition, has ambitions for this sort of consulting to make up 25 per cent of company revenue.
