The announcement:

Singapore, 2 Dec 2014 – Global social media agency We Are Social has bolstered the creative and client services teams of its Asia operations with the appointments of Christie Way as art director and Emah Zaini as account director.

Christie joins We Are Social’s creative team from BBDO, where she served as art director and handled an array of local and regional accounts, including Fonterra, Diageo, P&G, Visa, FedEx, DHL, Mercedes Benz, Tourism Australia and Exxon.

She joins a rapidly growing creative team that has added a number of key hires in the past year, including Su Lin Tan, formerly of DDB, and Avril Chua, formerly of the Fire Station Agency in Los Angeles, as art directors, reporting to creative director Sharim Gubbels.

Emah joins from Marina Bay Sands, where she served as advertising and brand manager. As account director, Emah will assist in leading We Are Social’s client groups and teams, with specific focus on managing the organisation’s APAC relationship with Intel and Lenovo, among others.

Having started her career at Young & Rubicam, Emah honed her account management skills at Bartle Bogle Hegarty (BBH) overseeing FMCG accounts such as Unilever Axe and Unilever Vaseline.

Don Anderson, managing director, Singapore, We Are Social, said: “We’re very excited by the addition of Christie and Emah to our growing team of social communications and creative specialists. Each brings new capabilities and skills to complement our client relationships and award-winning work. Their passion for social media is a perfect fit with our vibrant team culture.”

Sharim Gubbels, creative director, We Are Social, said: “We Are Social is increasingly developing a reputation across Asia for first class creative work. The addition of more great talent to our team will help us continue to deliver outstanding creative solutions to our growing client-base, helping them put social thinking at the centre of their marketing strategies.”

The appointments follow the agency’s recent naming as ‘Best Digital/Social Consultancy in the World’ by the Holmes Report in its annual Global SABRE Awards.
