Josh Grace joins Leo Burnett client Abbott in regional marketing role
Josh Grace, who recently left Leo Burnett Singapore were he was managing director, has emerged in a senior marketing role with his former agency’s client.
The Australian has joined pharmaceuticals firm Abbott and will be based in Singapore. The company confirmed Grace was a new addition to the phone list this morning.
He is to take on a role as regional marketing officer for the company, which Leo Burnett handles in a number of markets in APAC. Singapore is the regional hub for Abbott.
Grace joined Leo Burnett Singapore from the agency’s Sydney office, but left after just over two years as MD.
Though Leo Burnett has said that there will be no direct replacement for Grace, with GM Rebecca Ang, head of strategy Nigel Tribe and Chris Chiu, who is returning to the agency as chief creative officer, covering the MD role, Mumbrella understands that a replacement is being sought.
Over Grace’s tenure, while the agency lost key clients UOB and Great Eastern, it won Samsung, the regional advertising account for Allergen, the maker of Botox, and project work for Double A, Lazada, MBT and SkyScanner.
Is this ethical? Doesn’t Leo Burnett have something in their labor contracts that prevents this from happening?
ReplyDon’t see the problem…if he went to another agency and took abbott with him, thats grounds for legal action… but not this.
He must be chuffed….now all the top brass that screwed him for the job fiasco will be queuing and puckering up to receive grace.
