Matt Harty joins The Trade Desk as APAC SVP

Matt Harty is moving on from data analytics firm Experian after a brief stint as APAC GM of audiences solutions.

Harty is joining demand-side platform The Trade Desk, where he will be senior vice president of Asia Pacific, working with MD Andy Tu.

The Trade Desk set up a Singapore office in July 2013, and has since opened offices in Seoul, Korea, Tokyo, Japan and Sydney. Harty will be based in Singapore.

Jeff Green, CEO and cofounder of The Trade Desk, said: “We’ve known Matt for a long time, and it’s a thrill to have him join our team as senior vice president of Asia Pacific. Our growth in APAC drove the need to staff across the region and into Korea, Japan, and Australia. With Matt’s dynamism, industry knowledge, and strong relationships, we’re confident he’ll have immediate impact on the business. We’re so pleased to add his expertise to our client offering.”

Harty added: “The Trade Desk is a major global player in ad tech. The team and technology are both industry leaders. I hope to do them credit and help in their journey to change how media is traded.”

The Australian joined Experian in March 2014 from Omnicom Media Group, where he was the regional general manager of agency trading desk Accuen. During two years at Accuen, Harty set up operations and developed the brand around the region.

Harty has worked in online advertising in Asia since 1997. He co-founded the pan-Asian ad network SpaceAsia Media, which was sold to CMGi in 2000. After that, Harty co-founded Activ8, a yield management company that preceeded programmatic supply-side platforms.
