McCann stalwart Venus Navalta returns to IPG

Venus NavaltaIn what could prove to be one of the biggest people moves all year in the Philippines, Venus Navalta is making a return to the company where she spent 17 years of her career.

The highly respected Filipina is coming out of retirement to move into a role as technical advisor of Interpublic Group Philippines, Mumbrella can reveal.

Navalta was a popular fixture for many years in a number of senior roles at IPG-owned McCann Worldgroup, arguably the Philippines’ most powerful agency, where she oversaw both creative and media. During her time at McCann, the agency won awards at Cannes, Spikes, the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival and was named Philippine 4As media agency of the year five times.

Navalta’s last agency position was as president of Zenith Optimedia Philippines. She left in February last year after a three-year stint to take a break from the industry and spend time with her family.

Her new role will give Navalta control over IPG’s media companies.

The news emerges the day after Mumbrella revealed a deal between IPG Mediabrands agency BPN and a media arm of DDB Philippines, which Navalta helped piece together.
