MediaCom e-commerce head Josephine Tan joins McDonald’s in senior digital marketing role

McDonald'sJosephine Tan has left MediaCom after six years to join McDonald’s in a regional digital marketing role.

Tan, who was Asia Pacific head of e-commerce at the GroupM media agency, goes client side as McDonald’s director of digital product marketing for Asia Pacific Middle East and Africa based in Singapore, the company’s regional headquarters.

Tan held a number of roles during her time at MediaCom, latterly as head of e-commerce for Team P&G Australia ASEAN India Japan Korea. She was also regional digital lead for Team Dell Asia Pacific and Japan and, when she joined the agency in 2008, head of digital for MediaCom Singapore.

McDonald’s confirmed the move and said that more hires are to follow early this year. MediaCom has said that they are reviewing the structure of the agency in light of Tan’s departure, and may not bring in a direct replacement.

Over a 16 year career, Tan has worked as head of marketing for and strategy and market development director for CNET Networks in China.
