Asia’s Got Talent debut tops ratings in Southeast Asia and Taiwan for AXN

AGTThe debut of pan-Asian TV format Asia’s Got Talent has proved an early ratings winner for broadcaster AXN, emerging as the most-watched entertainment show in its timeslot on English-language pay-TV channels in Southeast Asia and Taiwan.

Billed as “the biggest talent competition in the world”, the show was the top rating show in the Philippines – where talent shows are hugely popular – for AXN so far this year. During its broadcast, AXN ranked number one in the archipelago with more than 80 per cent share among English general entertainment channels.

The show also claimed 80 per cent share in its timeslot among English general entertainment channels on Astro in Malaysia, where it was the most-watched show across all English channels.

In Singapore, AGT led the ratings chart in its timeslot for English pay-TV channels and AXN was also the top English channel for the night on StarHub.

The show claimed 79 per cent share among the international general entertainment channels in Taiwan.

Asia’s Got Talent premiered on Thursday of last week.
