Cohn & Wolfe China hires Harriet Gaywood as MD as Lydia Shen moves on after nine years

Cohn & Wolfe has appointed a new managing director for its China operation, bringing in Harriet Gaywood to replace veteran Lydia Shen, who is moving on after nine years with the company.

Gaywood will be based in Shanghai, and also oversee the Beijing office. She joins from ReuterPR, where she was business director working across luxury brands.

Shen moves on to spend more time with her family.

Gaywood has worked in agencies across China, including at of Grayling, where she as executive director she set up the Shanghai and Beijing offices, and in management roles at MSL China and Weber Shandwick in China and Abu Dhabi.

“Our China offering has grown significantly under Lydia’s strong leadership. We want to continue driving success and have an aggressive expansion strategy in the APAC region and China,” said Donna Imperato, Chief Executive Officer, Cohn & Wolfe Group. “Harriet’s wealth of experience coupled with her considerable local market knowledge will be a significant asset to our business. She is a strong leader who will focus on servicing clients, attracting new business and managing a talented team.”
