Host Singapore reports first win since last April 2014 claiming Magners creative account

Magners still shotHost, the Sydney-headquartered creative agency that launched in Singapore just over two years ago after being acquired by Havas, has reported its first local new business win for just under a year, picking up the advertising account for cider brand Magners after a pitch.

Host is to devise campaigns for the C&C International-owned brand in Singapore and Hong Kong.

“Magners is a challenger brand in this part of the world. Our pitch tackled that head-on, and we are really excited to now deliver against that shared creative ambition,” commented Dan Gibson, group MD of Havas Creative Group, who was the founding MD of Host Singapore before taking on a twin role running both Host and Havas in December 2013.

Conor Hardy, regional director, Asia Pacific, C&C International, said in a press release: “We’re on the cusp of something very exciting with Magners here. Host demonstrated great insights and understanding of the task ahead. We are looking forward to the partnership.

Host Singapore’s last reported win was a regional advertising assignment for BiC Lighters and Pens in April 2014.

Since Host launched in Singapore, it has won clients including SMRT, Unilever, PayPal, Top Shop, Google and Coke’s stills business. The agency left its own office in Chinatown last year to move into the premises of Havas Worldwide.

Host sold a majority stake to Havas Group in July 2011.
