Media agency launches accelerator programme for marketing tech startups in China

OMD Innovation FundMedia agency OMD has launched an accelerator programme for digital media startups in China.

The OMD Innovation Fund 2015 is a joint project with startup accelerator Chinaccelerator with the aim of bringing tech innovation to marketing and to help brands keep up with changing consumer trends.

OMD launched OIF in 2014 as an initiative for its employees, and now the media agency has opened the programme up for the industry.

The agency plans to set up a booth at the Asian Consumer Electronics Show (CES) later next month. There, 10 start-up teams will be at the event to look at how their wares can be used by marketers.

OMD China and Chinaaccelerator will choose three winners to seed with 300,000 RMB each to help build their ventures into viable businesses.

With OIF we look forward to those game-changing ideas and technologies that can help maximize the value and help drive business success for clients.”

The announcement comes the week after OMD’s rival Vizeum started a search for the best startups in Asia to help the agency solve marketing problems for its clients.
