IPG Mediabrands hires Andy Male to lead social media agency Rally

IPG Mediabrands has hired Andy Male to filled a newly created role running social media arm Rally for the media agency’s World Markets Asia cluster.

The Brit will be based in Singapore, and report into Derek Tan, the director of Rally, and Prashant Kumar, the president of IPG Mediabrands World Markets Asia.

He joins from Sapient Nitro in the UK where he was digital and direct client services director.

Male said: “As digital transformation takes grip across industries, social connections are at such a scale, they are breathing life into new brands whilst driving traditional brands to transform. I’m delighted to be joining Prashant, Derek and the team here working to ensure that our clients have the right strategies in place to harness social and create excellent customer experiences that help our clients meet the challenges ahead and grow.”

Kumar added: “Andy’s deep belief in a marketing built around peer to peer connections, make him a great fit for the Agency of the future we seek to bring to our clients, helping their brands tap into the future of connections, content and commerce.”

Rally’s clients include Malaysia Airlines, which the agency helped respond to the social media impact from the twin air disasters MH370 and MH17.
