Christel Quek leaves Twitter to launch APAC operations for UK-based tech firm

Christel QuekChristel Quek is moving on from Twitter after a year and a half to launch the Asia Pacific operations of a UK-headquartered tech firm.

The 25 year-old joined Twitter in January of last year in a sales role as regional content lead for APAC, MENA, Greater China, Russia.

Her job at Twitter, the microblogging platform on which she has more than 55,000 followers, came after a brief stint at Samsung. She was let go as part of a regional restructure of the company’s regional marketing team.

The Singaporean would not reveal the name of her new company, but said she would be leading APAC operations.

Twitter told Mumbrella that its regional team has someone in place to cover Quek’s content marketing role, and that the company is continuing to hire new staff “across the board” including additional marketing roles.

Quek started her career at media agency Havas Media, where spent a four-year term, latterly as global social manager.
