‘Life saving dot’ wins Product Design Lion

Life saving dotGrey Singapore has won Asia’s only Lion in the Product Design category at Cannes for ‘Life saving dot’, an idea to curb disease among Indian women by infusing a bindi with iodine.

The idea, which was also shortlisted in the Innovation Lions and generated a lot of debate when it launched in April, was among only eight entries to be awarded in the category.

‘Life saving dot’ was beaten to the Product Design grand prix by an idea by Geometry Global Dubai to combat iron deficiency among Cambodians. The idea was to place a fish made of iron in food.
