Big Mobile to launch in Philippines, restructures as APAC MD Rob Hall exits and Graham Christie named CEO

Mobile marketing firm Big Mobile is planning to expand to the Philippines, and restructured its APAC management team, with regional MD Rob Hall leaving to start a new venture.

Hall has been with Big Mobile since 2009, first as a sales director in Australia, three years before the firm started out.

CEO David Green and CFO Richard Leifer are to move executive chairman and executive director, respectively, and commercial director Graham Christie has been appointed group CEO.

Andrew O’Shea has been named commercial director for sales and partnerships, and June Cheung as ANZ sales director.

The Manila launch will be the creative, mobile tech, and media solutions firm’s fifth APAC operation, with offices in Sydney, Auckland, Jakarta and Singapore.

The company has yet to disclose who will run the company locally in Manila, and plans to launch by the end of the year.

Christie said: “With the Asia-Pacific region now the worlds biggest mobile advertising marketplace, and mobile’s share of all internet traffic now over 30 per cent, we need to calibrate the company to focus on the big growth generators, for us, that’s data leadership, restless product innovation, and new key appointments where it matters”.

He added: “The great news is, through our own success, we have the ability to invest in all these, plus launch a fourth APAC operation”.
