Dentsu Aegis shuffles Indonesian management team as investment arm Amplifi launches

Dentsu Aegis Network has restructured its management team launched Amplifi, its media investment arm, in Indonesia.

Ernita Ariestanty, better known in the market as Tanty, the chief executive of Dentsu Aegis media agency Carat Indonesia, has moved into a new role heading up Amplifi. She joined Carat from GroupM just under five years ago as COO and was appointed CEO in 2013.

Coming in as acting CEO of Carat Indonesia is Jaswinder Kaur, who is currently VP of special projects for Dentsu Aegis Network Southeast Asia based in Singapore.

Kaur, who helped launch Carat’s sister brand Vizeum in Indonesia, will stay with the agency during the search for a new CEO for Carat.

Vizeum is being led by Wirda Haryany as GM. Haryany joined the company in April from Microsoft. She was previously a media director at Carat Indonesia.

At a group level, Dentsu Aegis Network’s post-merger Indonesian management line-up was completed at the start of the year with the appointment of Iim Ibrahim as CFO.

DAN introduced single-market P&Ls for all of its Southeast Asian markets a year ago, with Harris Thajeb as CEO and Yusca Ismail non executive chairman for the Indonesian market.

The launch of Amplifi marks the data-driven media investment arm’s third introduction in Asia after launching in China, Taiwan and Australia.

Dick van Motman, Southeast Asia boss of Dentsu Aegis Network, told Mumbrella that the changes were part of a plan to ensure the agency was geared for growth.

“The merger [Dentsu’s acquisition of Aegis Media] happened some time ago, now it’s about integration. We’re putting the right structures in place to capitalise on the growth in the market,” he said.
