Twitter launches events service for brands

TwitterTwitter has launched a service that enables advertisers to more easily target users around major events.

Twitter event targeting has three parts – calendar, insights and event activation – and is available through the micro-blogging platform’s advertising service.

Events calendar allows brands to plan for live events, and filter them by location, date or type.

The insights service enables brands to drill down into each event to learn more about the audience based on the previous year’s data.

Twitter uses Tweet consumption and engagement data to determine the right audience for an event.

Twitter launched its self-service ad platform in 2013, enabling brands to use Promoted Tweets, Promoted Accounts and Twitter Analytics in their campaigns.
