Fox International Channels has restructured to focus on key markets Korea and Japan.

Joon Lee, who in April last year was appointed MD for Southeast Asia and Hong Kong, has moved into a new role running North Asia and leading Chinese content as EVP, North Asia and head of original productions, Mainland China.

Simeon Dawes takes on Lee’s role of managing the P&L for Hong Kong and Southeast Asia. Dawes was handed the Middle East P&L to run as MD last April. He was previously EVP of ad sales and partnerships for Asia Pacific and the Middle East.

Dawes will continue to oversee FIC’s Middle East business as well as APAC ad sales. His new title is EVP, advertising sales and partnerships, and MD, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia and Middle East.

Keertan Adyanthaya, the former MD of National Geographic Channel India, takes on the role of EVP, content and communications, Hong Kong and Southeast Asia.

His role will cover all content, channel operations and marketing for the region covering the Hollywood and Chinese entertainment, and factual genres.

Rohit D’Silva continues in his role as EVP, commercial and sports, overseeing Fox Sports Asia and leading affiliate and content partnerships as well as non-linear products.

Zubin Gandevia, president of FIC Asia Pacific and Middle East, commented: “Japan and Korea are two of the biggest media markets in our footprint. In view of recent strategic partnerships we’ve forged in both countries, including with JTBC to launch JTBC3 FOX Sports in Korea and with Avex in Japan as part of an OTT offering, we see massive potential for further growth in these markets.”

“Joon’s unique combination of experience – his familiarity with our businesses in both countries plus his proven leadership and creativity – will be invaluable in helping us to dive deeper in these markets.”

“Keertan’s proven successes with content-driven initiatives will complement Simeon and Rohit’s ability to forge mutually beneficial partnerships with our advertisers and platform partners. All four executives are proven leaders in FIC and will without a doubt propel our businesses in North and Southeast Asia to new heights,” he said.
