Mashable Asia goes live

Mashable Asia is the global tech and viral content site’s third local launch after introducing sites in Australia and the UK. Mashable Asia now has its own Twitter account.

It is being led editorially by Victoria Ho, a former TechCrunch, ZDNet and SPH journalist. Mashable is currently on the look out for a deputy editor to work alongside Ho.

The company is also looking for a sales executive to work with Gwendolyn Regina Tan, Mashable Asia’s head of business development.

The next local market launch is slated to be India through a deal with India.com.

In an interview with Mumbrella in May, Jim Roberts, Mashable’s executive editor and chief content officer said he wanted stories for the Asia site that “convey a sense of the Singapore culture, the way of life, the challenges and opportunities that people face, but translate well to a broader audience around the world.”
