Temasek launches first ever TV ad, tells Singaporeans: ‘We invest in future generations and we want to leave no one behind’

TemasekSingapore’s 266 billion-dollar government investment firm Temasek Holdings has launched an SG50 ad campaign to assure Singaporeans it is looking after their future and wants “to leave no one behind.”

The ad is the company’s first ever TV commercial.

A 77-seconds ad uploaded to Temasek’s YouTube channel yesterday, called ‘Growing with our nation’, begins with a young girl getting her parents out of bed. “Every day brings us the promise of discovery and endless possibilities. This is the beauty of the future,” the narrator in the commercial says.

The young Chinese girl greets a Malay woman and an Indian man, before offering to help an elderly lady walk along the street. The narrator says: “It [the future] allows us to write new chapters and chart new paths. We seed bold ideas to transform the impossible of today into the possible of tomorrow. We invest in future generations and we want to leave no one behind.”

“We’ve grown alongside Singapore and share in a story of remarkable change as we celebrate the fiftieth birthday of our home. We embrace the future turning bold dreams into enduring reality.”

The ad, created by Formul8, is to run just before the National Day parade starts on 9 August. Media was by Maxus.

Temasek Holdings reported an increase in its portfolio value of S$43 billion to a record S$266 billion for the financial year ending March, Channel NewsAsia reported early last month.
