David Tang appointed Asia CEO of DDB Worldwide as John Zeigler steps back

DDB Asia Pacific chairman John Zeigler has announced his retirement at the end of this month, bringing to an end his nearly 12 years at the helm of DDB APAC. However he will remain at the network as chairman emeritus Asia Pacific.

Zeigler has been with DDB since the network acquired his agency Kuscyinski and Zeigler in 1986. During his time with DDB he has led and managed agencies in Melbourne, Dallas and Singapore before taking on his chairman role in 2004.

Commenting on his departure, Zeigler said in a statement: “This decision has not come easily. Mostly because of the people I have worked with and those who have done so much to make the region what it is today. I often tell my kids two things – change the world and then when you do, get out while it’s still good. And so I am heeding my own advice.

“I have worked with many talented people, and the time is right for these same people to continue to drive DDB Asia Pacific forward under Marty and David’s helm. DDB has been my extended family for so long, and I will always think of it with fondness, pride and admiration.”

DDB Worldwide chief executive Chuck Brymer said in a statement: “John has been a terrific partner for both DDB and myself. He contributed an enormous amount to our agency’s growth in terms of our people, our work and our clients. We wish him well in his new endeavors.”
