Barron’s Asia hires William Pesek as executive editor as finance title reaches first birthday

Dow Jones-owned finance title Barron’s Asia has appointed William Pesek as executive editor.

Pesek, who is based in Tokyo, will pen a regular column for the international investments title which has just celebrated its first birthday.

Kopin Tan, Barron’s Asia’s editor, said: “William will deliver a daily column that will focus on macroeconomics, policy, politics and markets in Asia, providing valuable complementary coverage to our signature stock picks, investment articles, existing columns, and Penta high-net worth coverage.”

Pesek has more than 20 years experience covering economics, business and politics in the US and Asia, most recently as a columnist for Bloomberg News.

He is the author of “Japanization: What the World Can Learn from Japan’s Lost Decades” and is recipient of the Society of American Business Editors and Writers prize for commentary.

“It has been a terrific inaugural year for Barron’s Asia, which has gained strong and growing recognition as a key destination for actionable investment ideas, analysis and insight into daily developments important to investors focused on Asia,” Finn said.
