BlisMedia has opened an office in Hong Kong as the company eyes growth in Greater China.

The location-based ad tech firm has appointed Richard Andrew from rival Amobee to lead the business.

He will report to Harry Dewhirst, president of BlisMedia, and joins a number of former Amobee executives at the firm, including CMO Ben Tatton-Brown and Dewhirst himself.

Dewhirst said: “Hong Kong is a strategic choice for Blis’ international expansion roadmap, and our market entry is bolstered by the addition of Richard, one of the top media experts in the region.

“Establishing operations in Hong Kong, the region’s major media and commercial hub, ensures we are well positioned to engage top media agencies to strategise, execute and provide in-depth consultation for on-ground campaigns,” he added.

Andrew was Asia GM of Amobee based in Singapore. His move to Hong Kong marks a return to the territory, where he previously worked for Yahoo.

At the start of the year, BlisMedia hired Regina Goh from Millennial Media to run the business regionally as Asia MD.
