Tennis star features in brand film for Singapore Tourism Board ahead of WTA Finals

Singapore Tourism Board has released a video featuring tennis star Caroline Wozniacki to promote the coming BNP Paribas WTA Finals, which are scheduled to take place in Singapore later this month – weather permitting.

Wozniacki was in Singapore on 17 and 18 September, in the middle of one of the worst bouts of annual forest land burning in neighbouring Indonesia. She was in the city to learn about Singapore’s heritage, food and leisure pursuits, and visited sights including Tiong Bahru market, the Malay Heritage Centre and Sentosa.

The video has been uploaded to STB’s YouTube and Facebook pages.

The WTA Finals will take place in the Singapore Indoor Stadium from 23 October to 1 November 1.

On whether or not the event is likely to go ahead given the current poor air quality in Singapore, an WTA spokesman told Mumbrella: “We are currently monitoring air quality data provided by the Singapore National Environment Agency and reports from the U.S. Department of State Overseas Security Advisory Council. The WTA Finals is an indoor event which should minimize any impact. That being said, we are keeping an eye on it and monitoring the situation.”

STB is running an ad for the WTA Finals on YourSingapore.com.

STB is currently holding an advertising pitch that Mumbrella understand has reached the finalist stage. STB has worked with J. Walter Thompson for the last two years, having taken over the business from BBH.
