J. Walter Thompson’s first ad for AliCloud pushes ‘values beyond computing’

J. Walter Thompson has launched a campaign for the cloud computing arm of retail giant Alibaba in China.

A 60-second TV ad sweeps through history, showing how the power of mathematics has transformed lives, from the construction of Mayan temples to planning space shuttle launches. “Computing helps people to push the limit of science and technology and explore the unknown world,” the narrator in the ad reads.

“Aliyun, unleashing the power of cloud computing. Because we value the matters that can’t be calculated,” the commercial finishes.

This is the first campaign the agency has produced for AliCloud since winning the account in August. The TVC will run on CCTV and at key airports across China.
