Virgin Atlantic sponsors event celebrating what put the ‘great’ into Great Britain in Hong Kong
Virgin Atlantic is headline sponsor for a free British-themed event in Hong Kong to promote the lifestyle elements of the former colonial power and the brands and cultural experiences on offer there.
“We’ll be highlighting what put the ‘great’ into Great Britain,” said Virgin boss Richard Branson in a video to explain the idea on Facebook.
Starting yesterday, events held all week at Chater Garden include the best British films, a drinks experience, a “slice of London” and a garden party.
British brands taking part in the event include Ted Baker, Guinnes, Magners, Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin, Savills and Bremont, which are offering deals and discounts on their products.
The event, which was organised by TCOB Media, is supported by Visit Britain and the British Chamber of Commerce.
The Best of British website features a global Virgin Atlantic ad, with the slogan ‘Life doesn’t come to you, so go to it’.
The fake guardsmen would never have made it onto the parade ground. They look like ‘a bag of shite’ as my Colour-Sergeant would have said. It’s a shame that Virgin can’t borrow the real thing for a couple of days rather than a couple of low paid local students to dress up
