Volkswagen India says ‘Think lemon cruising through route 69’ in poetic tribute to VW Beetle

Volkswagen has launched a campaign to promote one of its most iconic brands, the Beetle, in India.

In a TV ad created by DDB Mudra, the famous brand’s legacy is celebrated in the form of a poem. “Think minds enchanted with odd design, think ‘Lemon’ cruising through route 69,” reads the narrator, referring to the classic Beetle ad created by DDB in 1960.

The ad, which introduces the “spanking new 21st century Beetle” ends with the line, “Think fun, think new”.

The campaign links to the website for a trial.
