Programmatic mobile advertising specialist Big Mobile has opened an office in the Philippines.

The office is to be led by the former country sales director of Mode Media and marketing manager of Groupon Jay Ramirez, who takes on the role of head of sales.

The Manila operation adds to a regional presence for the Sydney-based firm in Singapore, Indonesia and New Zealand as well as Australia.

Big Mobile announced its intention to enter the Philippines market last year, when regional MD Rob Hall moved on and commercial director Graham Christie took over running APAC.

Christie commented: “We are delighted to be launching into the Philippines market.  Our world-class solutions and services for brands deliver next-gen opportunities for marketers that will empower them to take a more robust mobile first approach to consumer engagement.”

The announcement comes a month after Big Mobile introduced programmatic audio advertising to Southeast Asia through a deal with Triton Digital.
