Media agency Starcom has hired a new head of talent management for Southeast Asia.

Joining the agency from Millward Brown, where she has worked since 2007, latterly as HR director for Southeast Asia, is Sujatha Maniya.

She replaces Tang Seok Hian, talent management lead for Southeast Asia, who left the agency last June to join talent coaching consultancy Aspen3.

Maniya will report to Jeff Seah, country chair for VivaKi and CEO Starcom Mediavest Group Southeast Asia.

Seah said: “Culture, employer branding and industry outreach become key priorities for HR as each company competes in the space of talent attraction and acquisition. This means that most HR, if not all, will need to sell better, seal strategic partnerships with key players in the industry, and manage talent communities.

“HR, or organisation coaches as they are, will become a key enabler to help companies future-proof their businesses,” he added.

Maniya’s role at Starcom involves HR business planning, talent management and change management.
