Wee Teck Chan has been appointed MD of experiential marketing agency George P. Johnson in Singapore.

Chan comes in to replace Steve Smith, who exited the business in October last year.

Chan moves from China, where he was GPJ’s VP and GM of client services, back to his home town of Singapore. He will report to Ben Taylor, CEO Project: WorldWide, the owner of GPJ.

“This is a significant move for us,” said Taylor. “Singapore is a pivotal office for us in the support of our clients who oversee campaigns in the Southeast Asia region as well as across Asia Pacific. Wee Teck has proven to be a great leader with us in China and brings a creative edge to our business. In his role in China he has overseen George P. Johnson China’s development to a more digitally infused agency and has enjoyed the success of many award winning digital and live campaigns for major global and local brands.”

GPJ is soon to announce a new executive creative director in Singapore, the agency says.
