Courts hires on-site agency Oliver in Singapore and Malaysia

CourtsRetail giant Courts has hired Oliver, an agency that places its staff on the client’s premises, to handle much of its marketing activity, Mumbrella can reveal.

Oliver has placed people on-site with Courts in Singapore and Malaysia, working on strategy, creative and media placement, and will also assist with brand planning from Oliver’s regional base in Singapore and global HQ in London.

The agency has also been tasked with developing a long-term consumer value proposition for the electronics and furniture retailer.

In a press statement, Terry O’Connor, Courts’ group CEO, said: “The Courts team is excited about the partnership with Oliver as they have demonstrated their ability to bring strategic, creative concepts to life to with a strong executional delivery.”

Oliver’s regional boss Nick George, who explained the thinking behind the Oliver model in an interview with Mumbrella soon after the agency launched in Asia in 2014, added: “We’re naturally thrilled to be chosen by a forefront retailer like Courts to show how our proposition is totally relevant for today’s modern clients.”

Courts uses a number of agency partners, including long-time creative agency DDB.

The Oliver appointment is effective from 16 March in Singapore and 1 April in Malaysia.
