Carat APAC digital chief Kevin Walsh moves into regional MD role

Kevin WalshKevin Walsh, the regional chief digital officer of media agency Carat, has been handed a broader role of managing director.

The appointment is the latest in a number of moves by media agencies to place digital practitioners in senior management roles.

A replacement for Walsh in the chief digital officer role has yet to be announced by the agency.

Walsh will work with Carat’s APAC CEO Sean O’Brien.

On the reason for the appointment, the agency said in a press release that it reflected “Carat’s rapid growth and its continued ambition to deliver great work to clients.”

Walsh brings 20 years of experience in media into the job, of which 15 were in specialist digital roles.

He has also worked at NetX, Neo@Ogilvy and iProspect in Australia, and worked with clients including Visa International, MasterCard, Warner Bros, L’Oreal, P&G, IBM, Subaru, Nissan and Frieslandcampina.
