Cheil Hong Kong and Samsung extend campaign which turns photographs into braille

Cheil Hong Kong and Samsung are extending a social media drive which turns photographs into braille and enables the visually impaired to share views of the Hong Kong skyline.

The campaign, called #BeTheirEyes, encourages people to share their photos and add a short description of what they see.

Together with Hong Kong Blind Union, these descriptions are then translated into printed braille stickers and placed where the photograph was taken.

“For the first time, everyone could see what we see,” Cheil HK said.

The braille stickers are now being extended to more sites across Hong Kong.

Cheil Hong Kong described the campaign as “just the beginning”.
