Ooredoo Myanmar hires TBWA

Ooredoo image from corporate websiteTBWA has won arguably the pitch of the year in Myanmar, taking on the creative account for mobile phone company Ooredoo.

The Omnicom agency’s Thai office will handle the business, taking over from Bates CHI & Partners, which was not among the contenders in a pitch managed by R3 involving Y&R and Havas Riverorchid.

When Bates handled the business, the agency managed the account from Ho Chi Minh City and appointed an account person on the ground in Yangon. It was unclear at the time of publishing if TBWA will do the same.

Charity Safford, Ooredoo Myanmar’s CMO, said in a press release: “We want to bring in the latest technology that will enable the people in Myanmar to get the fastest connectivity and best coverage. We are confident that our partnership with TBWA\Thailand will help us create change and exponentially grow our business.”
