The new agency will be known as Consider iProspect, and will be led by Consider’s co-founder Kasper Wandi as CEO, who will report to the newly appointed CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network Malaysia, Nicky Lim.

Wandi will be supported by Consider’s co-founder Therese Schwensen, who takes on the role of chief operations officer.

Consider Digital has an office in Cambodia as well as Malaysia, and around 50 staff.

Dick van Motman, who has overseen a flurry of acquisitions for Dentsu Aegis Network both in Southeast Asia and elsewhere in the region over the last two years, said in a press statement that Malaysia is a market that is “ripe to accelerate our convergent proposition with digital and creativity at its core.”

Consider Digital“By joining forces with Consider Digital, we are taking a big step forward adding a significant component to unlock more opportunities in the market. This investment will continue our growth momentum and further bolster our digital scale in the Southeast Asia region and beyond,” said van Motman, who is DAN’s Southeast Asia CEO and chairman.

Consider Digital recently parted ways with its managing director and head of content, with Wandi saying that the company was to review its recruitment policy as a result of a number of difficult hires. Wandi also denied the acquisition was happening when the question was put to him in February.

He told Mumbrella: “It’s not a secret that we have been approached from all angles. This industry is changing a lot, and we’ve been approached by all sorts of companies, creative, media, technology, and so on. We are not close to joining another network. The relationship has to be a partnership. We want to build the best digital agency in the region.”

Consider Digital is the latest in a number of high-ticket acquisitions made by Dentsu Aegis Network in the Philippines, Singapore, Australia and Malaysia. Only last week, Mumbrella broke the news that DAN had acquired Malaysian creative agency Merdeka LHS.

Van Motman said that the company’s strategy is about “creating lighthouses” in markets where agencies maybe not be the largest, but punch above their weight.
