Iflix hires head of Asia

David GoldsteinSoutheast Asian internet television service Iflix has hired a head of Asia.

Joining the company in a full time role is David Goldstein, who was previously an advisor to the CEO of Malaysia telco giant Axiata.

In Goldstein’s career he was worked at Emtek, the TV company which recently backed Iflix and is helping the firm enter the Indonesian market.

Goldstein will team up with Cam Walker, Emtek’s former head of content who is to lead Iflix’s Indonesian business.

Iflix boss Mark Britt said that Goldstein’s telecom and media experience would be “critical to driving and sustaining our rapid growth and maintaining our leadership position.”

Iflix – which claims to be the leading OTT service in Southeast Asia – is taking on Netflix, HOOQ and Viu with a mix of Hollywood, regional and local TV shows and movies.
