Makeup tutorial video with a difference urges Filipinas to speak out against domestic violence

DDB Philippines has launched a campaign for a collective of NGOs to encourage victims of domestic abuse to speak out.

The #NoMoreHiding campaign, for charities the Philippine Commission on Women and the Inter-Agency Council on Violence Against Women and Their Children, urges Filipinas to stop covering up and start speaking up with a video titled ‘Unbelievable makeup transformation’.

#NoMoreHidingThe campaign breaks off the back of data showing that 38 per cent of victims of abuse never seek help or tell anyone about their experiences, and one in five women in the Philippines aged 15-49 have experienced some sort of physical abuse since the age of 15.

The campaign focuses on Facebook, with a series of creative executives running on the Facebook page NoMoreHidingPH, including statistics on domestic violence in the Philippines.

A hotline has been set up using the number 117 for women to report abuse, and the email nomorehidingph@gmail.com for those who have questions on the topic.

The campaign is also inviting women to share their stories of abuse, and so encourage others to come forward and speak up.
