MEC launches revamped content offering to unite digital, media and creative services

MEC Wavemaker logoMedia agency MEC has launched a revamped content offering to bring media, digital and creative closer together.

Called MEC Wavemaker, the unit offers production and creative services capabilities including SEO and social in addition to the partnerships, branded content and experiential services it offered through existing content arm MEC Access.

The unit’s first APAC operations will go live in Australia, Singapore and India before rolling out across the rest of the region over the coming months.

In Australia, the business will be run by Andrzej Kowalski, a digital and TV production specialist with 12 years experience, and in India by Kumar Sinha, who has 13 years of experience in digital content and production.

In Singapore, MEC Wavemaker is to be led by Mike Jackson, who will also be running the operation across the region. Jackson has led MEC Access as APAC CEO for the last eight years.

Jackson says that the offering is unique in how it brings together skill sets in media, digital and creative with a single, unified approach to planning.

“Our intention is to launch in a further 20 markets in 2016 and all markets by 2017.  We wanted to get our top 10 markets right first and ensure we have the right skillets, talent, tools and structure in place in every market before we launch,” Jackson told Mumbrella this morning.

MEC Wavemaker has around 50 staff across the region.
