Media Prima hires former Groupon Malaysia boss Rafiq Razali to run digital business

Rafiq RazaliMalaysian media giant Media Prima has appointed a new head of its digital business.

Joining Media Prima Digital as chief executive is Rafiq Razali, the former GM of Groupon Malaysia, who comes on board after just over a year at fitness app Kfit, a company he co-founded.

Dato’ Sri Amrin Awaluddin, the group MD of Media Prima said in a press statement that Rafiq’s hire “will provide us with numerous opportunities to introduce more innovative solutions to fulfil the ever-changing needs of our customers.”

His appointment is also in line with the Media Prima’s “commitment to further consolidate our position as the largest integrated media group in Malaysia,” he said.

Rafiq has spent a chunk of his career with Malaysian telco Maxis, where he worked in the data division and in corporate strategy.
