FairPrice Xtra is Singapore’s first hypermarket to use augmented reality to engage shoppers

Xtra mascotSingapore supermarket FairPrice Xtra has used augmented reality for the first time in a campaign mark its 9th anniversary. Shoppers were able to interact virtually with FairPrice Xtra’s mascot on a large in-store screen.

Shoppers were able to take a we-fie with Xaver, which they could print out and take home.

“We believe that ideas need to be powered by innovative technologies in order for us to keep our audiences engaged in a highly competitive retail landscape,” noted Shunichi Ogawa, president and CEO of ADK Singapore.

ADK took on the FairPrice business from Havas in July last year.
